“Federal unemployment expires tomorrow, tens of millions are out of work, we just had the worst economic quarter in our nation’s history, our travel, tourism and hospitality industries have been decimated – we need a powerful economic boost now!

“The House passed the CARES Act in May, robust relief that would provide the economic boost our nation requires to ride out this health and economic tsunami. We need to extend $600 federal unemployment, provide another round of $1,200 stimulus checks, extend the federal moratorium on evictions, provide state and local governments aid to prevent layoffs for teachers, firefighters and other vital social services, add billions for testing and vaccine research, and provide relief for student loan borrowers.

“The path forward is clear. We face an unprecedented challenge that only leadership and economic support from the federal government can provide. I call on Senate leaders and the White House to come to the table and get a deal done today before more people needlessly suffer.”
